424 presents ‘The Painter’ SS17 Collection

424 on Fairfax almost doesn’t need an introduction any more. The contemporary men’s brand was founded in 2010 by Guillermo Andrade, under the Californian sun. From that time on, the label set its unique footprint on the streetwear landscape and inspires a next generation of fashion. 424 thanks its existence to a personal anecdote from the founders’ childhood. After he was rudely turned away at the door of a fancy restaurant because he didn’t know about reservations, he started dreaming of opening his own store – an environment where everyone would feel welcome. As with previous collections,  The Painter is a series of staples that combines the relaxed Californian vibe with distressed textiles. Workwear-themed hooded sweatshirts, denim trucker jackets and tees are all finished off with signature 424 elements such as the red branded armband, metal side zippers and bold graphics. Again, the collection draws inspiration from when Guilermo was younger, reminiscing the moment of when he would paint houses with his father in L.A. Featuring graphics that refer to various American paint brands and DIY brands, and wardrobe pieces that boast an industrial, hand-crafted aesthetic.
