New brand: Eytys

Stockholm-based sneaker brand Eytys celebrates the dynamic culture of generation Y – a generation of youngsters that embody multi-platform creativity and individualism. On a quest to produce the perfect sneaker, the brand created their first shoe in 2013, naming it ‘Mother’: a unisex deck shoe silhouette featuring a confident rubber platform. With the launch of this first style, Eytys’ foundation was established and ready to be a part of street culture. Born out of a personal need for straight-forward and comfortable design, Eytys emphasises on quality, functionality and simplicity. Their collections are more about playing with proportions and materials rather than decoration. Although Eytys stays true to their Scandinavian roots with this minimalistic design philosophy, the label is also influenced by skate- and street culture from the 90’s – resulting into multiple collections that house an air of nostalgia.

One of the current silhouettes by Eytys is the Doja. Created due to the discovery of vintage 70’s sneakers, found in thrift shops on the Japanse countryside. This style in an update on the classic Mother model and is equipped with the signature cork footbeds, satin lining and platform soles.

Eytys is known for their extraordinary seasonal campaigns located in the back of beyond of exotic locations. The brand already headed to the vibrant streets and breathtaking countrysides of South Africa, Israel and Ukraine. In an interview with Britisch magazine Dazed, Eytys’ co-founder and creative director Max Schiller explains that “less obvious locations often generate more interesting images”. A simple philosophy that resulted into intriguing, colorful images portraying youth culture and creative scenes in divers environments.
